Re: Tyres, Ride Height, Chain Adjuster



You don't have the ability to set the ride height to a particular value, but
if your goal is to lower the bike, the description provides a method of
determining that you are on the correct 'side' (of the adjustment arc so to
speak) as you adjust for correct chain tension.  At the starting point
mentioned the chain will be at its slackest adjustment.  As you turn the
adjuster clockwise (as seen from the swingarm side) you will be moving the
wheel higher AND backward toward the rear of the bike.  Obviously you stop
when the chain adjustment is correct.  BTW, I don't think Triumph intended
the bike to be lowered this way -- it's just a side effect of the way the
eccentric hub works and could conceivably have other undesirable effects
besides decreasing ground clearances.  However, these may not be significant
enough to worry about.
