tyre pressures

Hello all:
The tyres must have sufficient pressure to keep the sidewall of the tyre rigid. Less pressure lets the sidewall flex, which is BAD. Less pressure allows more heat to build up in the carcass of the tyre which lowers its overall life.
All pressures are measured while the tyre is cold (regular air temperature), not warm or hot after running the bike on the road. Optimum conditions to fill and check tyres would be 70 degrees F. I try to stay within 5% or less of the reccomended max pressures. A little less pressure in Winter to provide a slightly larger contact patch, right on the mark for Summer, when the roads are hot and tyres are stickiest.
Be safe and lucky,
