    There's no mention in the manual, however the bikes are designed
to be commonly (or at least occasionaly) ridden two up and on
highways, and the recommended pressures reflect that use. Don and I
(and many others) NEVER ride two up and RARELY ride on a highway.
Even a half-mile in a straight line is unusual. Obviously different
pressures for different modes of riding 

    Notice that the rear tire pressure for the Tiger, which is
intended to be usually ridden solo, is much lower.
