hi, preload is for the weight of the rider, rebound is the force of the
return of the spring when compressed.
to set preload, put on the centerstand, take a measure from a place on the
left rear panel ( 955i sticker or something ) and the rear axle. note
measure.
take off the stand, get a friend or two, put your riding gear (helmet and
all), fill the tank half full, sit on the bike hands on grips, have a friend
hold the bike or lean against a wall,
have another friend take a measure from the same marks, note.
compare the two measures, there should be a difference of 1..25-1.5 inch. if
not adjust.
clockwise = more preload = less travel
counter = less preload = more travel
now for rebound, ride a loop that has bumps, take notes, adjust, same loop,
compare and after a while youll get your best set up.
its the only true way to do it 8^)
