Once the Doc's are through with you, there is nothing better than a good
physiotherapist to help get you back on track. Shoulders are ugly (I did
mine a year ago next weekend - skateboard accident not my bike) and it's
still not right. But without the help of a good physio I'd still have it
frozen with no more than 80 degree of movement in any direction. A good
physio is worth his/her weight in gold.

Swimming is great for damaged shoulders as it forces you to use the full
range of motion (or as much of it as you can). Over time, it continually
forces the joint to the limits of it's motion and helps extend that range. I
now have full motion in the joint although it does still lock up every now
and then. As a good friend of mine says, it's not right yet but it's a hell
of a lot less wrong than it used to be :)

Hang in there and good luck on the recovery!
