I think you could have a legal stand if you had used an equivalent 
synthetic.  For example, my Triumph dealer (Cal BMW/Triumph in Mt. 
View, CA) put in Motul when the oil was changed at 6000.  If the dealer 
uses something other than Mobil 1T, you'd have good precedence for 
having used something else.

IMHO, of course. :-)
