Availability of luggage.  I read it can be hard to get or might take 
months, or was that just an issue when the bike first came out?
     There were supply problems initially when Triumph were surprised 
     by the unusually high percentage of ST owners that purchassed the 
     luggage with the bike. They're readily available now and the 
     chances are that if you go the secondhand route you'll pick up a 
     machine with factory panniers already installed and make even 
     further savings  :)
     
The boxes tend to leak and/or rust?  Or bang around, break the side 
brackets, and come off?
     I bought mine with the bike almost two years ago now. They're used 
     daily in all weather conditions. So far I've had no leaks, rattles 
     or breakages. They are expensive but the quality is fine. A small 
     percentage of people have had problems but that's to be expected.
     
Parts can take weeks to arrive at the dealer?
     Lilleys have almost everything available ex-stock. I'm sure there are other 
     dealerships that can get parts promptly too.
