[ST] sprint st or st1100

I apologize if this is something that's been beaten to death before, but I
actually searched the archives (and for all years this time, not just
2001--didn't notice that dropdown), but I've also been considering
Honda's ST1100 as a possibility.

I have yet to ride both, which is obviously the best way to compare
them, but I'd be curious to get the list's thoughts on this, especially
from any (former) st1100 owners. I realize that people on this list are
going to be a tad biased toward the triumph, but that's okay, as I think
I am, too.

The things I like about the ST1100 so far, as compared to the Sprint:
- -little more kneeroom (I'm tall)
- -can find good used ones for ~$5-6,000
- -comes with sidebags
- -roomier, lower passenger pegs
- -crashbar "wings" built in to protect fairing if dropped
- -mirrors. I don't like the plastic sleeve over the st's mirror stalks
(okay, I admit this last one is picky)

Areas where I see ST1100 < Sprint ST
- -heavier
- -doesn't handle as well, maneuverability, etc
- -isn't as "exotic"

Most of my riding is recreational. I do ride to work frequently, but
it's only 2 miles each way. I'm looking to do some long trips, maybe 2
up, not sure about extended trips, though from what I've read the Honda
would certainly give me that option. I think they're both fantastic
bikes, and I don't think I can go wrong, either way.

Thanks,
Brian
