I don't think he was looking for something that attached permanently....

It would be a gauge that attaches to the valve, with a filler valve on the 
other side. You then connect your filling hose to the valve on the gauge 
and inflate to the desired setting. Sort of like the ones you can get that 
go in-line on your compressor - only this one you could carry around with you.
