For what it's worth, I'm running 1.00 Kg/mm RaceTech springs, 15w oil,
and emulators with 2.0 turns of preload. I reduce my preload a half turn from
my "normal" for long distance touring and find it wuite comfortable. For wha
it's worth, my definition of "long distance" is anything over 200 miles in a
day, but I've done as much as 1,100 in a single day (back from last year's East
Rallye - BRP to Houston in 19 hours). I still have the stock rear shock and
find it quite servicable.
