Hrm.  Just a few minutes ago I discovered a leak on my ST then I come in and
see this email.  Mine is just like yours.  so far just a few drops on the 
garage floor and the oil on the outside of the engine.  Mine is 3 months
old with 3k miles so still under warranty.  I have had older British machinery
and I have come to expect this but somehow I was hoping the 2001 ST would be
different.
