Mine pings as well from first gear. It is really noticeable when I start off
fast (what other way is there) and only as the clutch moves from 50% to 100%
out, about 1 second of pinging. I moved up to mid-octane fuel and the amount
of pinging went way down. What fuel are you running?

PS - Pls don't take this as an invite to start the higher octane = higher
