Re: [ST] Triumph to WSBK

I agree with that, England produced some of the greatest ever racers
(Hailwood, Read, Smart, Sheene ?, Foggy ) but the production line has dried
up a little recently. I don't think it is anything to do with talent as
there are plenty of talented British riders around it is just they don't
push hard enough to get into the international arena.
My favourite riders at the moment are Bayliss and Hodgson, Bayliss because
he is so consistent and Hodgson because he does so well on a non-factory
bike. It is a shame that Bayliss wont have too many years left because of
his age.
I am not a fan of Mladin, I don't think he would cut it in WSBK and Gobby
just has an attitude problem. Mladin doesn't have to be popular in the
States as he can just come home and leave the problems he creates behind.
You seem a bit too keen to give us Edwards, we don't want him you know ;-)

Australia has produced some of the finest racers of all time (as has
England, for that matter). Matt Mladin isn't very popular over here, but I
have a lot of respect for the guy, primarily for his riding ability, which
is really second to none, but also for his willingness to stand up for what
he believes, even if it is an unpopular stand. Also, Gobert is a pleasure to
watch. We're lucky to have him over here. Then there's Doohan, Bayliss,
Corser (sometimes), etc. For that matter, even our own Colin Edwards was
born in Australia.
