Paul,

That is the correct bit, the pin that joints the u-shaped thing to the
clutch lifter arm on the motor.
On my bike (after it broke & I pressed it all back together), there was no
room for a cotter pin, in fact the pin did not stick out of the u-shaped
bit at all. Therefore there was no room for it to be peened over at all &
it only relied on being an interference fit in the hole.
