Silver belly

Coincidental to all this silver talk, a couple weeks ago I got my belly pans
back from being painted. I went to the local auto paint specialist supplier
and had them "shoot" the silver frame. A co-worker who paints restored cars
painted and clearcoated them for me. The paint looks great, with metal
flakes and all. There is some clearcoat buildup in spots, but it shouldn't
be noticeable when on the bike. An all silver Sprint, no, not for me, just
couldn't see it. I figured that if the belly pans were silver perhaps they
would go a little faster than the rest of the bike thus providing additional
space between the pipes and pan so that the pan doesn't melt. The bike is
currently disassemble for several winter projects so when it is all back
together I'll post a pic.
