Mark makes a good point in that, as a hobby, motorcycling is relatively
inexpensive.  Hell, even golfing can set you back many thousands of dollars
for golf clubs, country club membership, green fees, bourbon consumed and
lost bets.  And golf is a frustrating hobby, what with trying to get a
little white ball in a small hole way the hell down there.  Plus you could
get your ass kicked if you wear that funny clothing in the wrong part of
town.

The best advise I can give for someone looking to justify the cost of a
hobby is to start off with flying and to buy an airplane.  After owning an
airplane, every hobby thereafter will be unbelievably cheap.

P.S.  The hard part to multiple bike ownership is finding enough time to
ride all of them.
P.P.S.  On second thought, strike the bourbon remark above.  I've spent a
lot of money on bourbon at the end of a day of riding my motorcycle.
