Richard & his ST

Well, we know more now and yet we don't. Isn't that fun!?! Actually,
Richard
has two breaks, one right where the bone shaft attached to the ball for
the shoulder joint and one in the ball of the humerus. The doctor wants
a CT scan done. That will tell us whether he need surgery. While the
alignment of the bone shaft to the ball is not perfect, it doesn't
necessarily need to be for him to keep a full range of motion. However,
they need to make sure that the ball is in the shoulder joint correctly
and that the blood supply to the ball is good. If either of these things
are not good, he'll have to have surgery to
align everything correctly and will probably have external pins for 3
weeks to make sure things heal correctly. It looks like it will be
early next week before we know exactly what will happen.

I took the bike into Mania this morning, and their quick inspection made
them feel, as I do, that the bike has cosmetic damage only, but they'll
thoroughly check out the front end to make absolutely sure. Now to
figure out how I can get my bike up there to get that new rear tire.
I'll be riding before Richard will . . . .

Lisa
