Aux. Power Socket

I thinking of installing an aux. power socket on my RS to power
my GPS (battery cost is eating into my gas money! :-) and
wonder if anyone on the list who has had one can tell me if there
is a specific place where it is wired into the harness or if the
power is taken directly from the battery. The picture on the
Triumph accessory page shows spade lugs, so I'm wondering if a
connection point was provided inside the fairing area.
Also, where is one mounted, generally? As you know, with the
RS, there is little in the way of "dash board" area, so I'm
guessing it will have to be installed in one of the upper flat areas
of the fairing, maybe on the opposite side from where the heated
grip switch was installed.
Well, it looks like Northern California is about to get out of the
sunshine business, at least for a while; our first storm in a few
weeks is going to hit this weekend. So, I probably won't be
boring you with any pictures of the sunny CA coast or SF bay
area for a while. :-)
Thanks.
