Eric, sorry to hear that you too have the dreaded leaking fuel sender.

At the recent Grand Opening of Tampa Bay's new Triumph dealership
(Eurocycle) I had a chance to speak with the Triumph South-East rep. 
His suggestion re. my non-functioning fuel sender was that if it wasn't
leaking to leave it alone.  I should just learn to live without a
reliable fuel gauge for now.

I'm glad I heeded the advice.

I guess this doesn't help you, but it might help someone else following
this thread.
