Straight from the BBC today:

German Katja Poensgen will become the only woman on the motorcycling grand
prix grid in the 2001 season. Poensgen was named in the International
Motorcycle Federation's provisional grand prix entry list for 2001 and will
be the team-mate of Briton Jeremy McWilliams. She will compete for the
Aprilia team in the 250cc category after competing in supersport, a support
class on the world superbike championship calendar, last season.
