	Actually, the chances are good that your neck would make it intact.
Part if the extra advantage of the helmet (over resistance to basic crushing,
penetrating, lacerating of the head) is that it contacts your shoulders, chest,
and back sooner than your head normally would, restricting your head movement
even under hard blows. That reduces the probability of neck injury in an
unscheduled dismount.
