It should be noted that Fran was not killed by the failure of the
helmet. What killed her was medical malpractice - she was given a
blood-thining agent via her IV and it resulted in a hemorage that
killed her.

Of course, if the helmet hadn't of popped open, she wouldn't have been
in the hospital in the first place.
