[ST] Re: Sprocket Changes

This is a good question. I went for the smaller front on my RS, because a
front is cheaper, and because it's easier to fit, and because you don't have
to buy a longer chain (just take a link out). And it had the desired effect
(more 'oomph' everywhere, and better low rpm/traffic behaviour too). BUT it
caused unexpected clearance problems when I tried to fit a hugger between
the swingarm and the now further forward rear wheel! And I don't know about
chain wear yet.

So if you don't mind the slight extra hassle of replacing the rear, and you
do it at new chain time anyway, then I guess a bigger rear might technically
be better. You can also be more subtle, with 2 teeth at the rear being a
smaller gear change than 1 at the front, but 3 being slightly more radical.

Try it and let us all know!
