[ST] Fueling issues, solved

Well I had an up and down weekend. As a final(hopfully) report on my
previous FI problems. I got the bike back Friday and went for a ride with
the local HSTA Sat morning. The bike now rev's faster and more smoothly
than it remember it being for a few months. I now have to reprogram my
brain to compensate for the different engine response. The shop basically
loaded the most recent program, and ran the valves, to make sure. They did
find one exhaust valve that was a little too tight. With all the time I
assume they spent on the bike I was only charged $55 total. That's only one
hr of labor charged for what was obviously more time invested by them. That
was the up part of the weekend, the down part was a bit worse.

We lost one on the ride. He over cooked a down hill right hand corner and
drifted out into the path of an Explorer. It was confirmed this morning he
died of his injuries. I find myself conflicted about what I did after we
were told Sat about the accident by those that witnessed it and caught up to
us at a rest stop. Everyone in the lead group I was in turned around and
aborted the ride, I chose to ride on and finish the route. I can only
explain that I was "fortunate"(for lack of a better term) to have 1) not
witnessed the crash and 2) not known the man involved. I feel very bad
about any fellow riders loss of life, but I rationalized that if I quit the
ride now I might dwell on it for the rest of the weekend and possibly shake
my convictions on riding, and I was still shaking down the bike and my own
skills. I know this is kind of a bummer subject but I'm curious now whether
I'm just being cold about this, or is this a reasonable reaction to this
event? I enjoyed the rest of the ride that day with a thought in the back
of my head about those that chose to turn around and the fallen rider.
