Re: [ST] Ramp suggestions wanted

Bill,

I truck my bike and others all the time (It's a second
hobby of mine I guess) and with my simple method I
have never slipped, dropped or even scratched a bike.

I use an eight foot long (so it fits in the truck)
pressure treated(so I can leave it outside)2 x 12
(pick one with the fewest knots)from any lumber yard.
Remove the tailgate & set the 2 x 12 on the bumper
(you may have to shim it up a bit, I use a sand bag
that I lay on the bumper). I put eye bolts on the top
end of the board & use tiedowns to attatch to the
bumper so it won't slip off.

I do this with myself and one other (I balance &
steer, the other person pushes).

I suppose if you wanted a little more width you could
use two boards side by side, I have been wanting to do
this but havn't gotten to it yet. I would hing them
together so they wouldn't slide apart then you could
just close them up for storage.

Good luck
