I'm no engineer but a quick look at the RS with ruler in hand gives the
following (approximate) numbers:
- - Adjustment slot .. 2" end to end length, about 1.5" of potential axle
movement (i.e. centre to centre).
- - Current axle position .. ~0.5" from the front, i.e. 1" to go, with a
nearly new 18/43/106 combo.
- - The manual gives the stretch limit as 321 mm on 20 links (318 mm new),
i.e. ~1%
Actually I don't need a drawing to see now that:
- - From new to knackered only uses up .25" or so of adjustment, so
- - If I'd stuck with 108 when I fitted 18 I would still have had plenty of
adjustment left, sooo ...
- - I should have stuck with 108! Then I'd also have a nice hugger on by now.
That was very helpful, thanks. I think I'll have a link added, then go for
the hugger again.
You should put your drawings, calculations and conclusions into FAQ on the
website.
