I have a great suggestion.  There is a product out there, should be
available through one of the bigger pet store chains.  It's an electrified
mat.  The mat is about 2' X 3' and is electrically charged so that when your
pet steps on it, it sends them straight to the moon.  It doesn't kill 'em or
anything, it just "Trains" them to change their behavior.  You can get this
mat and drape it over your seat. You won't have any more kitty paw prints.
Hey don't forget to set up a video camera, you should be able to win the
$10,000 on America's Funniest Home Video's with that one.
