Sure...put the bike on the center stand and weight the back end so that it
is sitting on the rear tire. Better yet, tie a rope from the sissy bar down
to something secure on the floor.

here's a question:

how do you hold the bike up while you are taking off the forks? the ceiling
in my garage is 20 feet high and is concrete.  There is no way to use it to
suspend the bike. any ideas?
