Agree, but with comment.
1) I dunno what poor engineering is. Does that mean problematic bike? Poor
quality control? Bad engine design?
2) Top heavy is relative. Relative to an R1? Yes. Relative to the Bimmer
you're coming off of? Probably not. All of the bikes with the 955 engine are
on the tall side. If I were inseam impaired, I probably wouldn't buy one,
though there are some who do.
3) The 955 engines aren't carbed. Quirky FI? Not on the Sprints.
4) Resale is relative. Horrible relative to a HD? Yes. Relative to a Yamaha?
Nah. Relative to what you've experienced with Bimmers? I dunno. I don't
spend much time thinking about this 'cause I've never sold any vehicle I've
owned.
5) Spotty dealerships absolutely, unequivocally, true. Spending the time to
find a good one is a worthwhile investment.
