[ST] Re: trade ST for Trophy

If you are looking for more wind protection for your pillion, the Trophy
is the best choice in the Triumph lineup. That is exactly why I had to
buy one. The 1200 model has power in reserve. Only the best ST pilots
will have a chance to get past it in a straight line; and when you
master its (trophy's) handling, they (ST's) won't be pushing you through
any corners either. In stock form, the suspensions on both bikes suck
for extremely agressive sport riding. However, the Trophy's suspension
can be tweaked beautifully by adjusting the fork oil level to minimize
the brake/dive. The ST is poitively undersprung and must have heavier
springs for the forks (and R/T emulators while you're in there) to get
rid of the dive. Make no mistake, the Trophy is a heavy beast,
especially when compared directly to the ST, but it can be gotten used
to quite easily. Used Trophy's are all over the internet classifieds
for a song. Forget waiting for next year's new stuff, you've got a
problem now. If your pillion's miserable, you are miserable. Been
there done that. Go get what makes you both comfortable. BTW, she will
be MOST comfortable on her own bike, ehh? Mine now is. ;^)
