Thanks guys. I wound up heading out on a Speed Triple. "Give her the
one that matches her hair", Kari said, so I spent about 45 minutes
kicking around on a nuclear red (looks fuchsia to me) one. It was
great good fun, although the seat is oddly square, and was a bit
uncomfortable at a stop. And what the heck are those top two gears
for?
I also had a chat with the shop, and got a rundown on the things that
they've tested and replaced, as well as a brief conversation with Kari,
the owner of the shop. His exact words were, "We're down to either
this fixes it, or it's time to give you a new bike." I told him that
if it was fixed, I wasn't going to take it away until they could give
me a solid failure analysis of the part.
