Yeah, I've heard people argue that higher octane fuel gives better mileage
because power is improved, so you don't have to be as heavy-handed on the
throttle.
Personally I think that both these effects are marginal, and I stand on my
original statement.
There are, however, other good reasons to use mid-grade or better gas.
