As well, if possible have all the power and grounds from various
bits of connected audio equipment conected together and close to
the battery. Often times noise ignition noise such as that is
created/enhanced by ground loops where different pieces of equipment
see slightly different voltages at power or ground. By ensuring
that you have ample sized wire and a common point for power and
ground much of that can be reduced.

If all else fails you might need a coil/capacitor to suppress the
noise. As far as the coil, should be easy to find in a Canadian
tire or Pep Boys, and just place it in serious with the power. When
I had to get one for the old escort I believe it was actually
labeled "ignition noise suppressor"
