The protector kit is "available" here separately for A$250.
The whole soft pannier kit, including protector kit is only A$400.
I cant see how a couple of bits of plastic & some clips & other hardware could cost $250 & the two bags can only cost an extra $150.
If I was cynical I might suggest that Triumph is trying to make up for the lost profit on a whole pannier kit with anyone who might want to purchase the protector kit to use with another brand of luggage...
