Re: [ST] ST vs VFR

> One practical consideration on this choice. If you ride a lot of miles (I put on 25,000-35,000 per year), the Sprints have steel cylinder liners that can be rebored when they wear out. The VFR uses ceramic impregnated alloy liners that will probably last longer, but when they do wear out, the bike is pretty much disposable. This probably isn't an issue for most people, since I seldom encounter bikes with more than 30,000-40,000 miles.

It would be one for me! I've got 28,000 miles on my '99 ST, and if my
husband wasn't injured (off bike since january 1), I'd probably have
close to 30,000 miles on it by now. I will hopefully be close to or
over 40,000 by the end of the year. When you get on an ST, it just
cries out to be ridden all day, and I am only too happy to accomodate
mine ;-)!!
