It's called thermo-siphoning. Lots of old cars relied on it, having no 
water pump. UK-built Ford flatheads like the E93A Popular of the forties 
and fifties come to mind.


Thank goodness for you smart left-brain types to inform us intellectually lazy liberal arts majors. At least I'm smart enough to realize that what you say makes sense, even though I couldn't figure it out myself. This info makes me a bit more comfortable with the prospective longevity of the bike. Thanks all.
