Before I bought my ST I took it for a test ride, came back and said to
Earl (at Bridge) "I can see the point of 1st and top but what are the
other gears for."  He said that you need a couple of them when you have a
pillion on the back or have a lot of luggage :-)

5 months later I am still not sure I have used them all ;-)
