It seems my RS (7,500 miles) was cured of the neutral woes by 2,500 but I
remember early on doing just as you describe, kicking the lever with my heel
(with varying degrees of success). If you haven't already, try pulling the
clutch lever all the way to the bar. I recall that helped a bit. It feels
awkward, for me at least, because I usually don't use the pinky on the lever
but you have to get it out of the way to contact the bar (obviously).
