same thing happened to me in November, £2000 GBP ($3000 US?)  of damage. 
I was away for the weekend so it was on its side for 2 days.
I think my guy drove into it at quite high speed from the witness statement
from someone who saw it.
Thankfully  there was a witness so the perp paid my £250 Insurance excess.
It's a real bummer though, mine was off the road for two months waiting for
a new faring, hope you do not suffer the same.
