[ST] My opinion about the Aprillia Futura

God damn that's one ugly, ugly bike.  Ugliest underseat exhaust I've ever
seen.  Ugliest front fairing.  Ugliest rear fairing.  Ugliest mirrors.
Bizarre "Knight Rider" dash.  No, I'm afraid my Sprint is safe for the
moment.  The only thing I like on the Futura is the wheels, which are
admittedly very nice.

I doubt it's going to be a real roof shaker in terms of performance, since
it's using a detuned version of the Falco engine, which is itself a detuned
version of the Mille engine.  So what's the appeal?  I don't get it.

To be honest, the only Italian bikes that were designed after the 916 that
have appealed to me at all were the MV Agusta F4 and the Benelli Tornado.
Everything else is either comical, bizarre, or just plain frugly.  I think
the much vaunted design chops of the Italians are on the wane...

Just my humble 2 cents.
