Neal,
No I don't work with fuel injection controllers specifically But, I do work 
with mobile electronic controls and systems. My remarks are based on 
discussions i've had with both software and hardware engineers regarding 
these issues. The only way to know for certain if values are taken after the 
key is turned off is to check for power at some of the sensors, if no power 
then no signal or visa versa. I do agree that there is power to the ECM when 
the key is off because the fan is controlled by the ECM.
