Jim,
I had a small oil spot by left leg of center stand after approx. 100mi.+ rides.
The oil sending unit and surrounding area above and below it would be wet. This
turned out to
be the output shaft seal. I am in the same boat you are, no dealer nearby. I did
the repair myself even though it would have been warranty, at least I know it was
done right. Yes it was easy.
