Sean :
Why the vest and not a full shirt, such as the Gerbing jacket? What tipped
the scales in the Widder favor?

Basically, I went with the vest to avoid the extra bulk of a jacket,
figuring my arms really don't get cold anyway, and most of my jackets have
fairly tight sleeves. I chose the Widder because I felt the quality of
construction was vastly better- more of a cordura type fabric versus a
light, smooth, thin nylon, better fit, etc. Even the cord/ switch quality
is better, a heavy coil cord and good looking switch.. Keep in mind, this
is the Widder vest manufactured for BMW, it does have a "BMW motorcycles"
logo on the chest. I don't know if any of the specs differ for this
product form the Widder labelled items.
That and a discount from my dealer sealed the deal.........rode with it
Sunday morning, 46 degrees and a stiff breeze, the vest was a real plus.
