givi hards bags for st ???

has anyone mounted givi hard bags to their ST, using a givi mounting fixture?
  were you able to mount these with the muffler in the "up" position ??
never liked the triumph hard bags, esp on those days when they were off and
the "ugly" mounting brackets were visble and the can was in the lower
position.  throw me a bone here, folks......
