i finally gave up on adjustable and strap wrenches when i got the
Sprint, because the filter is hard to get a grip on, since so much of
it is hidden.  you can get a large fixed-size socket that fits the
facets on the top of the filter, and fits on your socket wrench.  you
want size "G".
