I highly recommend the change to the 18T front sprocket. A lot more low end 
grunt, hell, I'm pulling power wheelies coming out of first gear corners 
(yip-eee).  I don't think the change has any effect on top-end, but you sure 
get to triple digits faster.  I've had my bike up to 150mph indicated with 
both sprockets, and that's fast enough for me.  And about gas 
mileage....funny I don't seem to be getting any worse mileage! Reserve light 
comes on at about 200 miles with a little better than a 1/2 gal left.  I 
have put 235 miles on a tank and still had 3/10's in the tank.  In sixth 
gear I am turning 500 rpm higher than with the 19T.  Fuel injection is a 
wonderful thing.
