[ST] Long distance chain lubrication

After reading a recent post about a trip around the Great Lakes I started 
wondering what the long distance riders do for chain maintenance while 
traveling? I know about automatic oilers but what if you don't use or have 
one? Great trip report by the way. Bill I thought it was dodging buckets not 
trash cans.
