[ST] Blue Devil 2 and 2000-2001 changes

Yesterday I picked up Blue Devil 2. As I'm sure everyone knows, the 
break in period can be quite a drag. Having enjoyed two years on a 2000 
ST then being forced to pull in the reins makes it so much more 
unbearable. Ah, but soon, soon, I will be back to normal. I spent the 
afternoon putting on the panniers and CF rear hugger that I had pulled 
off the old ST.

The CF tank pad is another story. The double stick tape pads that held 
it on were destroyed during removal. Does anyone have a good 
recommendation for replacement tape? The original tape was great. It 
held on through a year and a half of rain, sun and freezing weather.

While going over the bike I was able to compare it to the 2000 ST. 
Beside the obvious change in wheel color, I have noticed a few other 
differences between the 2000 and 2001 model years:

1) Windscreen - The black trim piece at the top edge of the windscreen 
has been eliminated. A similar edge profile is now molded into the 
windscreen thus making it one piece.

2) Drive chain - The 2000 had a Regina. The 2001 has a D.I.D. 530VM

3) Frame, swingarm and pillion footrest support paint - The 2000 paint 
on these was a solid color metallic. The 2001 paint has a stippled 
effect. Upon first appearance it looks like a cheap casting. Upon closer 
inspection, the "pits" in the casting are a dark gray while the surface 
is closer to the silver of the 2000. (I can't make up my mind whether I 
like it or not.) Oddly enough, this is the only places where this change 
is evident. The fork tubes, fork top yoke, and pillion footrests retain 
the old color.

As I uncover more differences I will keep the list posted.
