I am thinking about making a temperature control with a 555, FET, and a 
Variable resistor. (yes there will be a couple of resistors and caps as 
well :-) If/when I get it done I will post the parts list/wiring diagram.

I don't like the idea of a pure resistive temperature control, and I do not
want to pay to much for a decent controler.

Not wimpy at all, I live in TX. And I am going to get the heated grips as
well. For that matter in the car, when I have the top down in the winter I
have the heat on full and the bacon friers set to max :-) Why be cold if 
you do not have to be.
