if the replacement I got is SS, but it ought to be for
the price I remember paying.

Mine is still under warranty so I'll take the freebie.
 If it's not stainless, I'm going to get the Daytona
one-piece or NWS adjustable one (thanks STeve and
Howard), or get my friend to make me one.  I would
have been p*ssed had I been way out in the boonies...
